The meeting of the first (WP1) and the fourth (WP4) working groups of the BFR Project was held in Kaunas on 7-8 October 2006.
On 7 October, all activities of both groups took place in Vytautas
Magnus University. The “Standard Methodology” drafted by Dr. V.Rakutis,
the head of WP1, according to which all project partners will have to
classify the collected archival and other material on their fortresses,
was presented in the course of those activities.
The project logotype
which raised considerable debates was collectively discussed. Further
discussions were held on the preparation of the travelling exhibition.
Part of the meeting participants moved their activities to the Kaunas
Fort IX Museum on 8 October, where further discussions regarding the
travelling exhibition and the possibility to display it in this museum
took place.
Other group of participants worked in the Institute of
Architecture and Construction at KUT. Here, practice classes regarding
the creation of the Transnational Information System were held.
According to the common agreement of all partners TIS database was
created at the Humboldt University of Berlin database “Mneme”. During
the meeting, Ms. J.Tietze, one of the TIS coordinators, demonstrated
the operation principles of this database to all representatives
responsible for the compilation of the database.
The summing-up of the
BFR partners meeting was jointly held in Fort IX of Kaunas.
This meeting was another large step forwards in the implementation of
the BFR Project, as well as the preparation for the next reporting
meeting in Berlin.
