Basics facts about project
After the end of Cold War military fortresses lost
their function. Some of them belong to the World Cultural Heritage.
Fortresses have a significant economic and tourist
potential for the regional development.

In transnational cooperation of 14 fortresses
("Fort-Pool"- Kostrzyn nad Odra, Dömitz, Citadel Spandau, Fort
Hahneberg, Peitz, Fort Gorgast, Kolobrzeg, Culture Park of City Fortifications,
Fortress Gdansk, Historical Museum of Gdansk, Nowy Dwor Mazowiecki, Gizycko, Swinoujscie, Kaunas, Kaliningrad
Oblast Administration) and 5 scientific institutions
("Brain-Pool" - European University-Viadrina Frankfurt/ Oder,
Humboldt-University of Berlin, Vytautas Magnus University Kaunas, Kaunas
University of Technology, Institute of Architecture and Construction, Spatial
Planning Institute - Kaliningrad) a high-quality tourist product is
developed to be a model for a European culture and tourism route connecting
European fortresses.
The innovative project develops new marketing
instruments concerning heritage compatible and economic concepts for a cultural
and tourist utilization.
Morast Redoubt - Kolobrzeg
It promotes transnational scientific cooperation in
monument protection same wise as creating strategies of reconstruction and
nature management.
